My comments on tutoring Life Science : I currently hold license for all areas of Science. I also have a student growth improvement of 11 months in the area of Science.

I have been working with the school system for several years. I am currently teaching a fourth/fifth grade split. I am very experienced in working with children who are at risk, special needs, and add/adhd. I have a proven track record of student growth in core subjects of 1 year 3 months. Through my years of experience, I've found that it is most effective to make sure the students are really thinking. When they get stuck, I ask them questions to point them in the right direction, but I almost never give them the answer unless a lot of time would be wasted otherwise. I'm also very good at catching mistakes, but instead of pointing them out right away, I usually also ask them leading questions to help them find the mistake on their own.

I am a very interactive teacher. I find it helpful for the students I work with if I am able to relate a lesson to something else with which they are familiar.
