My comments on tutoring Literature : Highly qualified to teach English literature, specifically British and Irish literature, but also American literature. I curated an exhibition at the Spencer Museum of Art (KU) titled "That Invisible Dance: British and Irish Art and Literature from the 1800s to the present" - it was highly successful and a voluntary project. Through my English and Creative Writing degree at the University of Missouri, I have earned a lot of experience in the field of English. My reading comprehension, writing and speaking abilities, as well as my critical thinking skills have all been tested and refined throughout those years. I have also spent four years working with junior high and high school students through an organization called Young Life.

Over the course of my career, I have taught at just about every level, from middle school to graduate school. I initially started teaching computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. My area of study is really in history and social studies where I worked with students on improving their composition and essay writing skills as well as organization and study skills for adolescents and adults. A Little Bit About Me...

I was a special education teacher for over 5 years. In addition to that, I was a volunteer tutor to childern ages 6-15 in english, history, social studies and now in English as a foriegn language. I will have my TESOL certification by March, 2011.
