A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level. Attaining a degree in the sciences has helped me to develop key writing as well as key listening skills. I am very capable of tutoring in most subjects.

I have a B.S. degree in music. My instrument is classical guitar, with which I have developed a great degree of skill and I have performed many recitals. I also have extensive experience in composition, music theory and eartraing/sightsinging. In addition, my education has given me good writing and research skills. Since earning my M.Ed. in Urban Education in 1999, I have had the mindset to push as many students as I am able to, to the top. I have an Advanced Certificate K-8 and have held a status of Highly Qualified since the initial implementation of such in Anne Arundel County. As part of a three person team at Severn River Middle School, I helped push our 7th grade math students to the very top in the county.
