I believe that all children are unique and gifted in some way. I truly prefer to work with them one-on-one. Each child learns in a manner that is a challege to meet and I welcome this challenge and often find that I learn as much from them as they might from me. My undergraduate degree is in French however I took extensive coursework in mathematics and chemistry and have a good understanding of all the sciences. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics. While working toward my Masters in Environmental Science I was able to teach the laboratory portion of an introductory course for two years. Micro welding had to teach others how to set machines and run them. I built parts which went to the moon, had to teach the others how they were made. Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”.
