I graduated with two bachelor degrees(in English Literature and in Theater Arts). I had planned to continue my graduate studies to obtain my Oregon Teacher's Certificate. Due to legislation, there was a radically decreased need for teachers. I decided after my children were grown to return to school to obtain a Masters' degree. I have been a substitute teacher in Oregon for tutoring/detention while a teacher was on medical leave, and was a teacher's aide in California. I was also the team's scribe and grammatist while in graduate school. The other memebers of the team would submit their parts of the project and I was in charge of making sure everything was properly edited and grammatically precise. After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. I took statistics in university and taught math in Spanish from time to time as a substitute for the Woodburn School District. In Woodburn I taught a self contained classroom for a while. I had to teach ELL students Social Studies, Math, Language arts in both Spanish and English and science. As a substitute I taught all kinds of classrooms including all subject matters.
