SAT Tutor with Specialized Curriculum

I have been tutoring high school students for a couple years with excellent results. My method of learning to take the SATs is very unique and has led to me using this system to score in the top 0.5% of all test takers. Anyone can learn to excel on this important test but most people go about it the wrong way. I am currently a sophomore in the college of engineering at Cornell University and have a great deal of experience in mathematics and science.

I find that each person has a different learing style and try to find out what works for them. I also teach them that organization of thoughts and ideas are helpful in how they approach learning. I relate the subject matter to what is needed to learn and to something that they can relate to. I am a retired engineer who has been substitute teaching for about 4 years including several long term positions. I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in teaching with addition coursework in Electrical Engineering and Math. My tutoring experience started in Adirondack Community College’s math lab where I was helping a wide variety of students get through their math classes.

I earned a BS in Aeronautics and have completed some graduate work in aerodynamics and meteorology. In addition to having given approximately 3000 hours of instruction in aviation subjects, I have authored several textbooks on aircraft design and construction. I've been both a research pilot and a captain on a cargo airline.
