Make school work.

Not all students are successful and the trick is to identify the reasons behind the lack of success. The issues that students have with school are diverse; procrastination, lack of organization, failure to plan, lack of awareness, ineffective habits, learning disabilities, and differences are all possible explanations for school failure. For math, I would explain the mechanics and techniques of how to get the answer. I want to make sure the student understands fully so I would also be asking the student questions just to ensure he or she knows the material well. For English, I would focus on practicing and discussion. Since it is a langauge, I focus more on practicality. I would also talk to the student and discuss whatever he is having trouble with so that I can give him or her tips to improve.
I have usually insisted in helping people who have struggled in English and Math. I would do my best to explain the material until the student would have a solid understanding of the material.
