While a graduate and undergraduate student, I've had the opportunity to teach at the University of Georgia. I've taught a wide spectrum of classes and labs ranging from Physical Oceanography to Cell Biology. My tutoring experience has been concurrent with my teaching experience and has largely been for my own students. In addition, I've been responsible for grading and aiding in the writing of numerous undergraduate research reports. As an educator, my responsibility is to ensure that my students not only learn the required information but also feel positive and invested in their subject. I have a Masters degree in anthropology (with minors in zoology and philosophy) and a Bachelors degree in zoology (with a chemistry minor) from Oregon State University. I have tutored high school students in math, science, reading, and writing for the Upward Bound program, was a teaching assistant in college biology laboratory and biological anthropology courses at OSU, and later a teacher of bioanthropology at Klamath Community College, OSU (online and on campus) and Western Oregon University. I was laid off in December 2009 due to budget cuts, but continue to present lectures and write scientific literature.
