Elementary Education and ESL

A student cannot learn unless he is comfortable and confident. My first priority before teaching is to make sure the student is relaxed and believes he can accomplish the goal. I also like to get to know my student to know what kind of learner he is and what he likes. My teaching style is "delight directed" whenever possible.
In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. Talent Development Tutoring

I have led several workshops about differentiation and developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood educators and parents over the last couple of years. Hey! My names Bethy! I'm 13 years old and in 8th grade. I've been tutoring since I was in 5th grade. I can tutor all ages in almost any subject. Last year I had the highest GPA in my whole school! I love teaching anyone who is willing to learn! I also teach children with learning disabilities and special needs.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph College after completing my planned program. Part of the certification program required many observational and teaching visits to a variety of school districts. My student teaching experience was in New Britain, CT. where I worked very closely with students on phonics and early reading skills. Having graduated college with my BA in psychology in the concentration of child and youth, I have been blessed with the opportunities to work in the educational feel for the past 4 years.
