I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there. My teaching style is very hands on. I understand that students learn in a variety of ways. Some are hands on, and need to actually get their hands on the project to understand. Some learn by seeing it. They have to see it and then maybe write it and learn by visualizing. Some learn by listening. They can listen to a lecture and hang on to every word. I love teaching! I didn't realize I did until I began homeschooling my daughter but I do. In fact I plan on beginning my masters in Teaching this fall. I enjoy children and working with them. I have a lot of patience and am very laid back. There is no greater joy than seeing a child's face light up when he/she suddenly "gets it." I have always felt strongly drawn to education, particularly in the field of literacy. I grew up as a child who loved to read, and I love to pass that on to others. After receiving my degree in English Literature, I became a teacher's aide at a small Montessori school in Springfield, Ohio.
