I have two years of tutoring experience in college chemistry with the University Learning Center at Penn State. I tutored over twenty students in college chemistry. I am currently tutoring and mentoring a student in High School algerbra and chemistry for free.
I believe in problem-based tutoring for algebra, and construct problems based on the textbook problems whenever possible. I let the student try the problem first, watching closely for any mistakes, and then teach the rules as necessary, and summarize mistakes after each set of problems. However, I can also teach all the rules beforehand if a student has been absent from class. For chemistry, I reviewed class notes with students and then explained the fundamentals whenever there was a question, and then did practice problems with the students.

Since graduating college with a B.A. in psychology, I have worked as a psychology researcher, accounting assistant, and in 3 different roles for an international pharmaceutical company. As an undergraduate student, I performed very well in my classes and found that I was able to help many of my peers do well in these same classes. As a result, I decided to begin tutoring students in a challenging statistics course offered on campus. In college, I was a pre-medical and business student, so my range of knowledge is quite broad. Since graduation, I have begun tutoring homeless children locally through a program called School on Wheels.
