A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring lower level Spanish students in high school for several years. Later in college, I volunteered for the America Reads Challenge Program and helped elementary-aged students improve their reading skills. Not long after graduating college, I moved to Costa Rica where I taught English for six months to learners between the ages of six and sixty years old. In addition to my tutoring and teaching experience, I have also gained exceptional interpersonal skills, along with advanced reading and writing capabilities.
When I traveled to Costa Rica the first time to earn my TEFL certification, I knew that teaching was my vocation. During my high school years I would volunteer to help children through various charities and church. When I attended college I became an Early Childhood Education major and volunteered in preschool and elementary schools. During my Student Teaching in Des Plaines I was in complete control of a Kindergarten classroom and later a 2nd Grade class. After graduating I began working in a daycare where I created activities for children as young as 3 years old and activities and homework help for elementary students as old as 13.

I graduated from high school in 2003 with honors and graduated in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Throughout my schooling I have attended multiple classes in reading/writing, science, history, computer/I.T., foreign language, creative arts, business and math. For two years I was involved with the Big Brother program where I worked with an autistic student. I’m currently employed at US Bank where I work as a mutual fund analyst. I’m also on the training committee at US Bank where I’ve been gaining real world experience helping others.
