My comments on tutoring Spanish : Middle School Spanish Teacher. I have my Master's to teach Spanish (K-12 certification). I have lived and studied abroad in Spain and Mexico.

I have 9 years of teaching Spanish in public schools. I have taught at every level, from Kindergarten through High School (including a dual college credit course at a high school). During my undergraduate studies, I lived and studied in both Spain and Mexico. I have an in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the Spanish language and culture. Degree - Bachelor of Science - Year 1987 - Major - Psychology, Elementary Education - with a Minor in Child Development. Issued By - The College of The Ozarks - Work Study Program - Point Lookout, MO. My certification is currently expired in my Elementary Education, but I do hold certification as a Substitute Teacher in the State of MO. I homeschooled two children from preschool through 12th grade graduation and completion of high school. A Little Bit About Me...

Students have described me as a very caring and kind educator. I take the time to explain how and why things are different in foreign languages. In the beginning of the year (or when I get a new student), I take the time out to give the student a quiz that helps determine what learning style they are based off of seven different learning styles. This helps the students learn not only about themselves in my class, but also in others as well. I also use this information to develop lesson plans around the needs of the students. This allows the students to participate in a wide array of learning activities, continue to be engaged, and learn the target language seven different ways.

More About This Tutor...

I have an affinity for foreign languages after growing up in Europe and the United States. I speak fluent Spanish as well as Swedish, my native tongue. This gives me a unique appreciation of different cultures. I earned an undergraduate degree in Spanish at the University of Missouri-Columbia and then solidified my classroom abilities by earning a Master of Education from Rockhurst University.
I will share my enthusiasm for learning with my students. I love incorporating fun and different ways to learn language skills with my students that include acting, art, games and speaking. I am always looking for ways to make lessons more engaging.
