During my under-graduation, I worked on-campus as a teaching assistant for Statistics, Pre-calculus, Algebra, Biology, and Physics. It was a great experience to be able to help students who were struggling in classes by conducting study sessions and collaborate with professors to review exams written by them.

During the attainment of my undergraduate degree, I conducted research under my professor, Dr. Greg Powell. Throughout the research, I gathered many skills one being creative in learning, as well as, presenting new material and teaching it to fellow peers and professors. I have also worked as a teacher’s assistant, running a chemistry lab of about - five students. I enjoy a very interactive learning approach. I tend to use hands on and visual learning techniques. I am patient and children are my joy to work with. It does not matter how long it takes one to learn, everyone is capable. I desire to set up a fun and disciplined learning environment for the students best success.

I have a few years experience teaching in the Air Force. I also have an extensive background in engineering, statistics and math in general. While in the Air Force I was an instructor for the Space Operations School in Colorado Springs. This gave me the opportunity to go through many classes on how to instruct various types of students. Even though I taught adults, I am also very comfortable teaching children. I also have been an engineer most of my career so I have experience with real world math problems. I have never tutored as a job but did take and pass all the testing required to become a high school and middle school math teacher in Texas (TExES). I have five children of my own and spend many hours helping them with school work. I have found that patience and repetition in many cases are very good paths to success. I enjoy teaching when there is a bit of a challenge getting the student to understand the concept. As I have mentioned, I can use different styles to help the student get the concept. I have a great deal of patience and believe that everyone can learn. I enjoy the way someone looks after they have understood and mastered an idea. I tutored all subjects - especially in Math all through High School. I also tutored in college. I have strong skills in Math - all levels - but I especially enjoy algebra. I have two children and I basically taught my oldest son math, since he was a different kind of learner than the way they teach at school. He is a very kinesthetic type learner and needs to see, feel and touch to understand the concepts - so I used a lot of tools to help him. I can tutor math and science exceptionally well and other subjects for the younger levels.
