My teaching style would be consider hands on. I feel that the best way to learn in any subject matter.

While attending Stetson College of Law I mentored elementary students at a local elementary school. I also volunteered as a tutor with the Adult Literacy Program in Pinellas for two and a half years. My student improved from a second grade reading level to a fourth grade reading level in that time. I currently volunteer with the Lawyers for Literacy program as a reading tutor for third graders preparing for the FCAT. I have professionally tutored middle and high school students helping them prepare for exams and the FCAT. I enjoy working with students of all ages to improve their reading and test taking skills.

In my current job, I feel I am a strong trainer because I am able to determine people's learning styles. By determining their style, I am able to train them in the way that they will learn more quickly. In tutoring, I would have the skills to determine how the child will learn the information. Some children might work better by watching someone else solve the problem while explaining the steps. Some might learn by just reading a complete step-by-step process. Some students may want to try the problem on their own, and then explained where they went wrong. They may also want a combination, by doing the problem themselves while the tutor talks them through.
