I beleive that patience and kindness are a key factor of working with students. As students are attempting to master content that is difficult, the teacher should demonstrate encouragement and patience. I also believe students learn in different manners. Therefore, if a student is not comprehending the information in the traditional manner, then a different approach is necessary.
Recently, I obtained my Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching Language Arts 7-12. I have worked as a substitute, Ohio Achievement Test Tutor, and summer school teacher for the past five years. A Little Bit About Me...

Being in college for four years exposed me to social environments that I normally wouldn't have been able to encounter on a day to day basis. Whether I was learning on my own, working with or helping fellow classmates, or even just observing how the professors worked with us, I was always learing new concepts or methods of how to interact with a wide variety of characteristics in a diverse group of people. And due to the difficulty of my major, I feel that by being able to communicate well with others in this area I could handle various other scenarios as well. I graduated from Youngstown State University with my Bachelors of Science in Education in May 2009. During my four years there, I have learned how to prepare developmentally age-appropriate lesson plans, the importance of applying reflective practice based on achievement of learning goals, as well as fostering collaborative relationships to support student learning and well-being. I have a passion for teaching. I love to teach children and young adults. I have always been the teacher to help the struggling students, because at one time I was that student. I understand the encouragement and one on one that learners need. I understand that each of us have our own learning styles and I as a teacher have to understand that to help each student achieve their highest potential.
I have a degree in both Elementary and Special Education with a concentration in History. In the past nine years, I have taught Kindergarten for seven years and fifth grade for two years.
