I began teaching piano in 1975, the summer after my sophomore year in high school. I continued to teach through college. As a teacher, I have been able to utilize both my BME (Bachelor of Music Education) and my Bachelor and subsequent Masters Degrees in Music Therapy to support my students wide range of learning needs. I have also taken additional classes in psychology and classes that dealt with learning disabilities. I believe that I can effectively utilize these skills as a tutor.

I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember. I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years.
