The great thing about one-on-one or small groups is that the teaching style can be adapted to what 'clicks' with the student. Some need a big-picture, overview explanation before delving into the details, others need a step-by-step methodology. I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. Just memorizing facts, although in some cases that is necessary, it is just not fun for all students and just may not stick unless learned in a fun way. I want to make learning fun because no one should ever stop learning. There is just too much out there to sit back and let life pass you by.
