Chef, Reader, Creative Writer, and Resume Writer

I am a culinary school graduate and a full-time chef. As part of my chef-ly duties, I regularly find myself teaching cooking techniques and helping people become more comfortable in the kitchen. When it comes to writing, that I do more for my own amusement, but I have always considered myself more of a writer than anything else. A Little Bit About Me...

While in law school, I assisted students enrolled in a summer program with residential advising and subject mentoring/tutoring. The program was offered through CLEO and hosted by Valparaiso with classes being taught by visiting professors from participating schools. The program launched students with passing grades from that program into the study of law by helping them overcome some shortfall in their application. During my time in law school and as a law clerk, I primarily spent my time researching and comprehending laws and regulations, and subsequently writing briefs and memorandum. A Little Bit About Me...

As a college tutor I worked with ESL students in writing. My English and MLIS degrees help with reading developement, research, literature selection, and writing quality. I have also home schooled my elementary age children in all academic subjects. Currently, I am volunteering at a local elementary school in the STAR program tutoring young children in reading.
I have a daughter that is hearing impaired and has a langauge processing disorder. I also have a teenage son that is extremely bright, but a little lazy at school work. Teaching and watching them learn has shown me all children can learn, but they do it in different ways and at different speeds.
