I am a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, with experience tutoring at Tennessee Temple University, as well as University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in various topics, including biodiversity, mathematics (up to pre-calculus), history, and American Sign Language. I continue to study in my personal time as many topics as possible, with the belief that a good tutor is firstly a good student.
I allow my teaching style to mold itself to each individual student, finding methods of communicating the information that best suit the learning style of my student. I favor a holistic approach to learning, believing that education should be of the whole person. I have taken Deaf Culture, Linguistics, Educational Interpreting, Special Setting Interpreting, and Businesses Ethics in Interpreting. I have all of my textbooks from over the years we can use to come up with a plan for studying. I always learned best by repetition. To memorize signs, it is best to use them in a sentence, so we will create short phrases to learn new vocabulary words.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is predicated on the belief that children truly want to learn. I like to introduce the goal or goals for today. Ask a few questions regarding ysterdays assignment and see if the class will bridg the two by itself. I believe that a class os students wiling to learn need only slight direction each day. I always have a full lesson plan in tow, but i find the class rarely needs me to rely on it. The students' hunger for knowledge always seems to be motivation enough to keep them moving forward through the blackboard jungle.

I try to relate well to and form good relationships with my students.
