I love teaching and learning new things and believe it should be a fun experience. I have an 8 year old daughter and a mother currently taking college courses so I have learned a great deal of patience over the years and developed a relaxed, happy personality.
In 2005 I graduated from the University of West Florida, earning a BA in psychology with a 3.5 GPA. During that time I was vice president of an on-campus meditation group that lead people in meditation and relaxation techniques. I worked at the University of Pennsylvania in Chemical Engineering under an Army Research Office grant, then as a software developer for the Mechical/Materials Engineering Dept. During college, I was in food service for 5 years, then a Records Clerk in county government. I was Advertising Director and Business Manager for two small, innovative Philadelphia newspapers. I have been a tutor/editor for the Royal Thai Scholars program (government scholarship students) and done private tutoring and editing for approximately 10 years. While at Purdue, I studied English literature and writing (academic and creative). I began college studying English education. This gave me experience in the classroom at the observation level. I pursued courses exploring classroom techniques, dynamics, and the incorporation of technology. My minor in Communication introduced me to Associated Press style and improved my copy editing skills.
