I don't approve of "teaching to the test" but there is a definite method to being a successful test taker. Wheter it's weekly spelling, multiplication tables, states and their capitals, or the dreaded end-of-grade or end-of-course, I can coach you on strategies that are proven to help you perform better. Tutoring differs from teaching in that "style" is replaced by method. Some of the methods I have used in the past are rhythm and music, neumonic devices, and of course, drill and practice. I have been told that I am gifted with presenting material in novel ways. As mentioned in my earlier description, I have eighteen years experience as an educator. I have taught students of all ages from early childhood through college and non-traditional adult education. I believe in making learning fun and engaging by relating concepts to points of interest for the individual student.
