My comments on tutoring Law : Member of the Florida Bar (2006-present); Member of Florida Law Review; Juris Doctor from the University of Florida (2006); Have represented hundreds of clients in state and federal court.

I have over 5000 hours (nearly 10 years) of tutoring experience, including the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT and other selected subjects. I have been helping high school and college students get accepted to undergraduate and graduate programs all over the United States, including UF, Michigan, Stanford, FSU, UCF, and many others. My first teaching experience was with the Department of Juvenile Justice when I was fresh out of college. It was, believe it or not, a lot of fun! When I went on to Law School I was fortunate enough to be selected as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research & Writing and Appellate Advocacy. I also tutored first year law students as a member of the Florida Law Review. Recently, I spent a quarter teaching bankruptcy law to paralegal students in Madison, WI, and had a great time doing so. My students seemed to enjoy it nearly as much as I did. Now that I am ba ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience teaching all levels of students from grade school to the college level. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida but found I was more interested in teaching. Since graduation I have been looking for new opportunities to teach students of all levels. I excel in tutoring students in writing research papers, English, History and the sciences.
I am a very patient and easy going instructor. I believe that teaching should be done in a calm and supportive environment. My teaching style allows the students to discover their own hidden abilities. I help foster a curious mind and encourage each student to excel in life. A good education can make a huge difference in the life of a child and I help children realize that.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping students succeed. I believe all students are capable of academic success. However, I have come to learn that learning styles differ greatly and to be an effective tutor it is imperative to analyze the student and find the most effective tutoring style that suits his or her learning style. My goal is to improve results through patience, hard-work, and confidence building. I believe a good educator can make a world of difference in any child's education. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
As a graduate of Indiana University, I was driven to academic success as a Dean's List student in attaining a degree in Business Management. During my time at Indiana I tutored students in English, Social Studies, Math, and History. The students ranged from elementary to college level and my retention for these students from year to year was nearly 100%. Now t ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I had 10 courses in accounting as an accounting major and took 5 courses in economics even though only 3 were required becuase I liked economics. I only had one course in statistics but I did well in it. Becuase accounting, economics and statistics are the courses that schools use to "weed" the crop for the business schools that has been where all the demand has been for tutoring and where I have gained all of my tutoring experience. I have turored courses in micro and macro economics, financial and managerial accounting and statistics. So far the students I have worked with have done well.
I teach by the book and assigned homework. The main goal is for the student to do well in the course and the first step is to understand the material in the book and to complete all of the homework assignment. That tests are usually based on what was assigned in the homework. The student should ... read more

Excellent with children, I can adjust my teaching style with the personality of the child. No child learns the same, so it is important to create a learning plan that builds trust and respect between the child and tutor. I have found my greatest attribute is the ability to make learning fun and “cool.” I am passionate about teaching. If the children you teach can sense your passion for the subject, they will absorb that energy and want to excel. I also consider myself very patient - frustration has a very negative effect when trying to create a positive learning environment. Finally, I believe in creating a benchmark style constructional curriculum. I strive to instill the same love for learning my teachers gave me. Learning is for life.
My education is a private-based curriculum comprised of small student-teacher ratios. Since 4th grade I was taught intensive Spanish. A prep st ... read more

After having lived in Germany, teaching ESL in a middle school, I returned to the United States to teach in the Irving Independent School District in Irving, Texas. During that time I taught German, French and Spanish to middle and high school students. Subsequently, I was offered a teaching position for the Department of Dependent Schools, which is managed by the Department of Defense Education Activity. I taught Study Skills and German for three years in the Ramstein area in Germany. I then transferred to the United Kingdom where I taught these modern languages on an air base near Cambridge. Presently I am teaching ESL to businessmen in the Tampa Bay area as a free lance contractor. Having acquired skills in three foreign languages by three different learning methods, I have a good understanding of language acquisition as well as language usage.

A Little Bit About Me...

Coming from a family where my parents were both educators, no worder why education was so important for us kids growing up. First,I experienced teaching as a teenager leading catechism classes in the Catholic Church for a couple of years. I remember loving it. Later on, I had a change of heart and felt in love with teaching again. I started as a teacher aide, helping ESOL students. When I saw how much I could help them, it made all the worth of the world. Now, after certification and 10 years teaching, with all the ups and downs, there are always students that I can help in any way, from learning a subject to even in a personal matter, and when I acomplished that, I feel satisfaction and a sense of work well done. I am always learning and improving myself to give to the class and my students all what is available and interesting for them. I am very creative and energetic, and I try to br ... read more

As a professional in the field of physical education it is my obligation to change the way physical education is perceived in our society. The purpose of Physical Education is to help children develop the skills they will need for becoming functionally active and healthy people in society. It is important to realize that the mind and the body are closely linked together. Physical education and academic achievement are closely linked in that physical fitness promotes a healthy mind. I want my students to not only achieve in my class, but also to achieve academically in other classes. By teaching with that in mind, society will see that I play an intricate part of my student’s education.

A Little Bit About Me...

I always seek to educate by exploiting a child's natural curiosity. I first try to build trust and discover what motivates each individual student. I rarely need to use authority as a teaching tool, but much prefer to use an agreed reward system and set achievable short term goals. I like to use a scientific method allowing the student to propose the direction of study and act as a guide to learning through experimentation with several approaches to the task. I always want to be prepared to arrest frustration with a prepared alternative method of accessing the same material. I like lessons that combine subjects into integrated projects that challenge the student but are composed of small successes that eventually show the student how much they can achieve. I do not emphasize time-based skills but I hold myself to continuous improvement and measurement.

During my college career at the University of Florida, I excelled in all areas, including general education and tracking courses for my major. I was deemed Valedictorian for the spring graduating class in 2008 with a 4.0 GPA. As a senior, I was chosen as a teaching assistant for Research Methods in Criminology. I gave lectures, ran lab meetings of 50 students, held office hours, aided students with homework and research projects, and assisted with other daily errands. My expertise is relatively eclectic, as I perform well learning and teaching Math, English, Chemistry, and Psychology (and Criminological studies). One of my written works was chosen for publication during my four year stay at the University of Florida, and I have years of experience writing intelligent and eloquent research papers. My professional experience is matched by my personal experience. I am the oldest of seven si ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I began teaching long before I received my teaching degree. I have a B.S. in Social and Behavioral Science from USF; A.A Degree from St. Pete College. As a parent of a child with a disability I had to help my child which turned into a love for helping other children. I am certified in Reading k-12, EH K-12, VE K-12. I gained all these certification in order to expand my availability to others. I have mostly tutored students in reading comprehension and with test taking skills.
I truly enjoy working with all students. As you can see with my previous experience I don't give up on students. I believe that all students can learn however, they may learn differently. Through the use of brain inventories, I have helped students discovery the best way for them to learn. In my research I discovered that people learn through visual, auditory or kinesthetic. As a result I usually include acti ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient and understanding person. I first will talk to the person to find out where they are having trouble and begin there. Find out what they are understanding and where they are having trouble. My approach is visual. With accounting it is easier to get the concepts when it is shown on a black board or up on a screen.
