A Little Bit About Me...

Each of us has a different way of learning but the first step is to appeal to a student's natural inquisitiveness. If they can see real life applications for the skills they are learning they will become engaged and enthusiastic. I have and continue to use many of the skills I learnt in school and they have been instrumental in assisting me to find solutions to complex problems. These are stories to share with students so they can see the usefulness of the skills they are learning . I love to teach one-on-one or in small groups. The greatest moment for me, as a teacher, is what I call the “Aha!” that I see in a student’s eyes when he/she finally understands a troublesome concept. I believe that teaching is about empowering my students to take responsibility for their own learning. I want to help my students in clarifying their own values and provide the opportunity to explore and discover answers to the questions they create; I want my students to analyze, compare, and evaluate the answers they discover.
