All can learn, the difference,some just take a little longer

I have been teaching high school math in the San Antonio Texas Charter system. I was hired as a highly qualified teacher and l recently retired in 2012. I believe all students are capable of learning the materials but unfortunately some students need more time or direction. In my fifteen years as a teacher l never felt like l couldn't help any student learn. What l definitely have learned is patient and understanding for those students that l had to help with more time and examples.

From my previous tutoring experience, an effective way to teach children is the most important thing. Explaining reasons and dealing with essential are more effective than remembering. This approach will motivate children to explore the unknown world and their potential. During the last few years, I strived to explain reasons briefly and hit essential directly to all of my students.
