Prior to offering piano lessons out of her residence in Waxhaw, North Carolina, Brittany Smith studied classical music for over 15 years all the way through advanced musical literature – 9 of those years being under the professional instruction of Valerie Chamberlin. In 2008, she graduated from the Certificate of Merit with honors through the Music Teachers Association of California. In her years of study under the MTAC, Brittany also participated in Bach Festival Competitions, a Composition Competition, Baroque Festivals, Honors Recitals, and Certificate of Merit Exams. I love teaching and working with all chldren. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been told often I am especially patient, which I believe is one of the most important qualities for a teacher to have. I know from experience that not all children learn in the same environment, so I would love work one-on-one with a student to help him or her to gain the experience that may be lacking. Each person has different strengths, and those strengths may not always be recognized in the classroom setting. Many students have unrealized strengths and abilities. My license is in English, but I also enjoy Math and History. I have a classical music background as well.
Upon my graduation from UNC Chapel Hill, I worked various jobs; however, I could not find fulfillment in what I experienced.
