My teaching style depends on the student. I am comfortable with trying different study methods in order to figure out why my student is having trouble with a particular subject.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I then pursued a doctorate and was active in many peer study groups where were tutored each other in neuroscience and organic chemistry. I have cultivated strong writing and analytical skills in my college career at UConn. I took a variety of classes that requried me to articulate myself through research papers, poems, lab reports, and speeches. While at UConn I volunteered with a local congregation helping non English speaking individuals learn how to speak conversational English.
I think that relating a particular subject to a student is the best way to spark their interest and draw them in as learners.
