The Best Way to Learn Spanish

I have been speaking, reading, and writing fluently in Spanish for 10 years. I have also been teaching Spanish (to children and adults) and translating for Spanish-speakers for 8 years. I speak Spanish daily because my husband is from Mexico and does not speak English. I also have 2 children (7 years old and 5 years old) who are bilingual.
I use a combination of E-mail, Telephone, Instant Messenger, and Video Chat (optional). Each lesson requires the student to translate from Spanish to English and then to translate from English to Spanish. Therefore, the student begins speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish from Lesson 1. Aside from the lessons, I provide Spanish music with lyrics and translation to help with speed and comfort level when speaking. I also provide websites for watching Spanish TV from all Spanish speaking countries to help with understanding and adjusting t ... read more

Somewhere over the Skittlebows~

When I was learning how to draw, I started out copying drawings of characters that I saw in books and TV and used what I saw to draw my own characters soon after. That was "fine" but I realized over time that it was not enough to simply "see" something drawn a type of way, but that I needed to understand "why" it was drawn that way. I feel as though the best way to teach a student is to first tackle the subject that they enjoy drawing the most, in this case character design, so that they'll be more interested in the lesson. Then break down what makes the figure look that way and how it's done so that they will have the skill and experience to pull original ideas, poses, and designs from their own memory. This will then open the door for more lessons to be taught, if the student chooses :) Since artistic ability cannot be "forced" or rushed, I believe in a fun; laid back teaching me ... read more

Experinced teacher. I gained 633/677 in old TOEFL. I use a great deal of activities in the class, such as competitions, dramas, songs, and so on. Many teachers hold the stereotype that Chinese is the most troublesome course, but nobody was absent in my class. Praise, encouragement, humor and comfort is very important during the teaching. To see the improvement of students is the happiest thing for me.

Native Russian w/20+ years of Teaching Experience

My passion for teaching Russian began at a young age but developed into something much greater with time! After completing my studies at Moscow State University, I opened a bookstore and learning center in the heart of Moscow, through which I was able to become well acquainted with different teaching methods and syllabi (for both native and foreign speakers), meet various professors and teachers, and attend lectures and workshops nationwide. Having connections with major Russian publications allows me to keep up to date and have access to new teaching materials and plans. Upon moving to the United States, I began working for the State Department's Foreign Service Institute as a Russian language and culture instructor, and teaching became the basis of my occupation. While working at FSI, I was faced with numerous challenges, as students often had very limited time to achieve certain le ... read more

PROVIDES THE BEST AFFORDABLE MATH TUTORING AVAILABLE

As a student in technical logical philosophy, I soon became very interested in advanced mathematics. Once I had acquired sufficient knowledge of advanced mathematics I began tutoring mathematics in 2003. I have continued to tutor math and have enjoyed thoroughly assisting students in their acquisition of mathematical knowledge. I graduated from the Catholic University of America in 2005 with a mathematics minor. I attended the Catholic University of America in the 2005-2006 year as a non-degree student taking two more advanced math courses. I have always done well in my math courses with either a B or A grade. This is because of my natural comprehension of mathematical abstract theory.
I am a math tutor with a college degree in math and a sum total of twelve years experience in tutoring math exclusively to students age 13 to adult. I love to tutor math and see students gain the mat ... read more
