I am a professional with a B.S. degree and with 18 years experience in the health science field. I also have extensive experience in various areas of business. In addition, I am proficient in many different computer programs, which has allowed me to train and mentor people in use of various computer software. In the past year I have direct experience leading classes and teaching students. I am comfortable writing reports and essays and have excellent knowledge of English and grammar.
I greatly enjoy teaching and working with students, from children to adults. I am patient and understanding and believe in positive reinforcement to motivate students. I would say that it is a little more toward laid back. Being over 6" tall, stocky, pushing hard, being an ogre, hard-nosed, that isn't going to work for me. People have a tendency to be a bit intimidated and fearful because of my size. I will use it to my advantage if it is necessary, or becomes necessary, but I've found being a little more quiet, reserved and coaxing the student to initiate the discussion is a little better. Ask leading questions, adjust and proceed, based on their response.
I have received degrees in Int'l Business from Lourdes College, as well an Associates Degree in Accounting from Owens Community College.
