Literature is one of my top subjects! I have a passion for literature and teaching students how to read deeply to find out what the author was truly trying to say. Expert areas are British, American, and World literature.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. I offer a different approach to things that students may not get in the classroom, to hopefully expand their interest in a subject they never thought they'd like.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began working in Tangipahoa Parish February of 1983. I tutored in the Migrant program When our school moved I moved to a 6th Grade class where I taught self-contained, team taught, etc. When we moved, once again, to a new school I with Mrs. Deborah Ellzey as a team-teacher. I taught Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have continued to teach with varying class situations in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade subjects and am currently teaching 5th Grade Math Enrichment.
