My comments on tutoring Poetry : I am a curator and founder of the "Eight St. Taproom Poetry Series", which is a bi-weekly local poetry event, with Open Mic and visiting guest poets in Lawrence, KS. I practice needs based teaching with an emphasis of building on successes. I am intuitive and perceptive and take time to understand how each student learns . I then develop a teaching approach that he/she relates to.
I was a special education teacher for over 5 years. In addition to that, I was a volunteer tutor to childern ages 6-15 in english, history, social studies and now in English as a foriegn language. I will have my TESOL certification by March, 2011.
