I have always loved children and work hard to make a difference in their lives. Children are very diverse learners and I believe, as teachers, we need to discover the key to what really motivates them. Every child can become successful if they are given the appropriate tools and the opportunity to learn in a way that is specific to their learning abilities. My theory of teaching is through the use of constructivism, a theory asserting that children learn by gradually making sense of their world based on a combination of their background knowledge and what they experience. I also use scaffolding, modeling, and inquiry-based teaching. I am dedicated to helping each child achieve their greatest potential. I graduated in 1999 from NMSU with a degree in Elem/Spec Education. While attending school, I worked in a group home for troubled teens and at a facility for adults with disabilities.

I have tutored friend's children over the course of several years. I have taught religious studies for over 15 years to youth ages 14. I have worked extensively with children in my various lines of work in the mental health field and foster care. I love teaching and working with children and appreciate that no two children are the same nor do they learn the same way. I'm a strong believer that it's important to teach a child in a manner he/she is comfortable with, whether they pick up a concept quickly or need time. I hold a degree in Organization & Corporate Communication with a minor in English, Rhetoric/Writing Studies and 14 years experience in public relations throughout my various jobs. My current job involves auditing of financial records, therefore I am exceptionally precise and would not object to tutoring in elementary math.
