I love teaching and planning every day activities. I had many field placements and I really liked working with children- especially one- on -one. During my field placements, I've had the opportunity to communicate with children and teachers as well. My name is Nicole Koerner and I'm a native speaker of Germany. I was born and raised in Germany. I received a B.A in German Studies/ Communication & Culture from Kutztown University,PA in May 2009. During the past few years,I've been tutoring German to children in High School. Some of my honors include the National Dean's List,Honor's List Who's Who Among American High School Students and I belong to the German National Honor Society. I have experience in the German language, since that is the country where I was born. I am very good in the German language, such as writing essays, research papers and grammatical skills.

It is very important to let children know that there is no wrong or right way of doing their work, as long as it is done correctly. They also need to know that their methods are their own. Children needs reassurance. When A childs' work is not done to one's full potential, it is not my strategy to make them feel like less of a child. It is however, my strategy to work with that child until he/she understands WHY the work was not done correctly, and then let him/her correct the work themself. This in my opinion, lets a child know that we believe in him/her. That is the most important lesson a child can learn. That they are their own person and that they all have the potential to achieve the goals set for them. My most recent experience was as apreschool teacher. I have 14 years experience in elementary education, specifically teaching 2nd and 4th grades and kindergarten. I have 15 years experience in higher education administration leading workshops on goal setting and setting priorities, study skills, time management. I also have 10 years experience in private tutoring. I did this part time while teaching. I have tutored students in grades K-8 in all subjects including writing and study skills. I am certified in the state of PA, hold a B.S. in Music Education and have over 40 graduate credits in Elementary and Technology Education. I have also received the status of Highly Qualified Teacher by completing a program through The American Board for Certification in Teacher Excellence.
