I really enjoy teaching, I have kids that love completely different kinds of music and is fun to discover what they really like, what I do is really simple I just motivate my students teaching them what they really want to learn, I have to learn songs that they really like and show them how to play them in an easy way using music theory and harmony so they understand a lot more. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from the University of Washington last year with a BA in Journalism. I've also received an AA Degree from Highline Community College. Unlike many Journalism students, I have experience in arithmetic like algebra, pre-calculus and calculus. I've tutored students in math and writing, from first graders to college peers.
I am a very patient, hands-on style of tutor. I take the time and try to explain things to people who have a hard time understanding. I try to gage what the student is struggling with and also what they do understand, so I can quickly pinpoint their troubles and focus on the problem issue. Some kids need more explaining, others need a picture drawn out for them. I am good at finding what method people learn best with.

A Little Bit About Me...

My drive for knowledge enabled me to complete three degrees by the age of 22. I have high grades in all my classes as well as the extra science and writing classes I take on the side. I have a AAST in environmental science and technology, a BA in marine science and environmental studies, and will have my BS in one quarter. As well as being a full time student except for the summertime I tutor people in need of a little extra help. I have tutors ages from 6-25 and people with disabilities as well. During my studies at USU I worked at Adams Elementary both as a Teachers Aid as well as a Mentor during the After School Program. I worked one-on-one as well as in groups of students grade k-5. This position was one of the most rewarding and enjoyable that I've had and would love to continue. I have also taught American Sign Language at the University in their ASL Labs for a year.
Everyone has the ability to learn but not everyone has the same ability. Most people are visual or tactile learners whereas most teachers, in my experience, use verbal/aural instruction methods.
