I have completed all requirements for a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught mathematics, computer applications, life skills, and other subjects at high school and community college levels in Colorado. I have tutored and homeschooled statistics, college algebra, trigonometry, and other mathematics topics, and homeschooled a complete spectrum of high school level topics.
I believe in interactive teaching, where the student is as involved as the teacher. My satisfaction comes from watching students discover knowledge that they had previously thought unavailable. A Little Bit About Me...

Since 1988 I have taught or tutored various levels of students from primary to secondary grade levels. As a student that always excelled (Member of Phi Theta Honor Society, Honor graduate, Raines Scholar, Who's Who Among High School Students, AP student, Vice-President of the National Junior Honor Society) I found it easy to help others understand concepts they may have missed during class. Most of the tutoring I did was due to a concerned parent asking for my assistance. One example was a young lady that I tutored during the summer. She had trouble during the school year with three subjects, but with tutoring her several times per week, she was able to pass all of the classes during summer school.

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduation with my BSEE, I have been trying out employment in the Engineering field. My math and physics skills have become the front-runners in my tutoring career. This past summer, I tutored students attending Boston University and Boston College in Allston and Brighton, Massachusetts. The areas of tutoring that I offered were: Math - All calculus, Linear Algebra, Ordinary Differential Equations. Science - Physics I, II, Statics/Dynamics. Engineering - Circuits, Control Theory (Linear and State-Space), Microprocessors, and C, C++, Verilog programming.
Mostly I prefer relating abstract concepts to everyday life. I believe if a student can parallel course material with events that occur in his or her life then he or she will always remember the concept and have a deeper understanding of it.
