I have a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Arts Degree in Music Education from Ball State University. I have an Indiana Professional Teacher's License in all music levels.I have been a school music teacher for over 18 years, a music contest accompanist, private piano and instrumental teacher for over 15 years. I have served as a music contest judge. I was a 10 year member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, a church choir director for 10 years and a music leader in church for over 20 years. Music has always been an important part of my life, and I really enjoy sharing my love of music with my students, ages childhood through adulthood.

My first session with the student is when I can determine whether their learning style is visual, audial, tactile, kinesthetic or a combination of these. I then write a prescription of study with the student that include several objectives and a timeline to achieve these goals. I work with the student to promote a sense of achievement and to build confidence for future learning.
Gaining and sharing knowledge has been a driving force throughout my life. Literacy is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children.
