In tutoring, it is best to locate where the student is having trouble, and start at that point, since math builds on itself. I always begin by working 1 or 2 examples of a certain type of problem. Then, when the student is ready, let him/her work a similar problem. When the student has mastered that concept, we move on to the next type of problem. I started tutoring part time in 2004 and have continued this throughout college. I worked as a math tutor for tulsa community college part time during the summer. I have earned over 190 hours of college credit, I have two degrees, and I am only 15 hours away from a chemical engineering degree. I am very adaptive to students learning style.
