I am a graphic designer with a high level of expertise in motion graphics, print design, branding and identity, and web design. I have worked for a marketing company the last few years as a motion and graphic designer and recently for a design agency designing material for various different clients. I am also a drummer and musician, and an artist.
I like to be hands on in my teaching technique and have you do the assignments with some supplemental knowledge given to you as you do it. Everything is step by step and builds upon itself until you master the subject. I want the student to have fun while we do it, I'm not too serious and not too joking either. After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.
Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.

My comments on tutoring Drawing : For the greater part of my life I have been deeply interested in art in all it's phases and have had a mumber of original works published as full page covers for the arts section of "Seven Days" - a weekly newspaper published in Burlington VT. I have participated in Open Studios frequently in both Vermont and Florida.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a nursing student who will graduate in December 2010. However, I've earned a total of 73 credits through the nursing program and other college courses. I was a substitute teacher for six months for grades K-5 in the Pasco County School District.
I enjoy working with children. I especially enjoy teaching children in grades K-3. I believe children are sponges who have the ability to learn and comprehend material if given the opportunity.
