I have no teaching experience therefore I have no teaching style. If I were a teacher I would teach the kids the information, have a question session and then review the information in a game type format. The kids will learn if you make the information interesting and fun. That way you will get thier attention. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Buisness Admin. I dont't really have any experience in tutoring.I have only helped family members in their buisness courses in high school. My teaching style is one which engages the student actively in the learning process. I have used the "popcorn" technique in a classroom, where I call out "popcorn", then call on someone at random. This ensures that each student in the class is following, or else they lose their turn to read. If I'm working w/ a student w/ poor reading skills, I allow them to read, and help them w/ the difficult words, encouraging them to sound out the word. I also try to engage models, and kinestetics, in the learning process. One picture=1,000 words, and one model = 1,000 pictures. I also use these techniques in teaching mathematics. In college, I was a peer tutor in Math, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. I have sub-taught for CUSD 5, and CUSD 87, for 3 years. As an active member of my community, in the form of pageantry, volunteering, and leadership, I have always enjoyed instructing others. In May 2010, I graduated from Bradley University earning two bachelor degrees, BS in Mathematics and BS in Economics, and I graduated in the top ten percent of my class, earning Summa Cum Laude. While in college, I had the opportunity to partake in our tutoring program that our university runs. Starting as a sophomore, I had the privilege to tutor students in college algebra, calculus, statistics, high school math, and economics. I was also asked to conduct walk-in math tutoring for athletes and non-athletes. On average, I worked with students for 10 hrs/wk.
