A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate from Metro State College in Denver, Colorado. I have earned a BA in biology with a minor in music. I have an excellent understanding of biology, chemistry, math, and music. I am also well adept in writing research papers and have used computer programs such as microsoft word, office, powerpoint and others. I currently teach piano to 22 students ranging from the age of 5 to 14 years. I also teach homeschooling students all general education courses.

I started my career in NYC teaching at Rikers Island Prison. I then taught at a Residential Treatment Center for Abused children, I received certification as an Administrator and worked as an Asst. Supt. Eventually I moved on to Smithtown NY, where I Supervised Reading teachers and Title 1 teachers. I was promoted to Asst.Supt for Special Ed. and Special Services. I retired from the Public Schools but 2 months later was employed to Supervise a Head Start program. Four years later I left to Supervise a Program for ADHD adolescents. I have always been fascinated by numbers and how the analysis of numbers can be used in nearly everything we do. I have a MBA from a top 20 program that has helped me further develop my mathematical skills in statistics and calculus. I have helped tutor children in various after-school volunteer programs and was a paid tutor while in undergrad and grad school. While the tutoring ran the gamut, I tended to focus on math (algebra, stats), finance/accounting and writing (typically logical essays not creative writing).
