A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has been a motivation for me for all of my working life. I have experienced the joys of my student's successes at the high school level and then on to their university courses or in their own work experiences. It is important to explain and have students experience learning from a number of different angles. Each day involves reading, speaking, listening and writing in the target language. The more senses involved, the better a student can grasp a skill.
I have taught French and German in both public and private schools from grades 1 through the college level for over 30 years. My most recent experience was in a public high school, grades 9-12, where I taught for 25 years. I have a bachelors and a masters degree in French literature with a minor in German and am National Board Certified in French. I have also taught humanities and am certified in world civilizations.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children since I was in Jr. High School, teaching Sunday School at my church. I have always been very patient with children and have allotted them time to comprehend a topic before going on to the next. I believe it is important to go about teaching children according to their individual learning abilities and interests. My experience working in the Early Childhood Education Department at the University of Oklahoma as a graduate assistant has also influenced my beliefs about teaching.
