My style of teaching is more of a participant style. I enjoy when students contribute to class discussions. It brings joy to my heart when a child finds a task complicated and eventually succeeds. I greatly enjoy seeing the students achieve their learning goals and their yearly progress In 2000, I began to teach special education and teaching special needs children with learning disabilities. I taught grades 3rd-5th in a self-contained, reading, math, and language skills and middle school grades 6th- 8th. After Hurricane Katrina, I moved to Pensacola, Fl. I taught regular ed. 3rd grade, all subjects,special ed., 3rd-5th and SRA reading classes, high school grades 9-12, career ed., health, and reading to behaviorally challenged students. I challenge students to overcome their difficulties and do not allow them to persist repeatedly in ignorance and misunderstanding. Rather, I require my students to learn and extensively practice even the most basic concepts until they are no longer problems, and this allows the students to move on to more complicated concepts, but, as needed, I patiently explain any concepts that are unclear. I remedy errors in morphology by requiring repetition of the correct forms, and by requiring the students to convert certain words into their other forms, reinforcing the various attributes of each form.
