Experience Summary
I am currently an employee for the MCPSS. My current title is Intervention Teacher/Special Education Teacher at Semmes Elementary School. In this position I serve students who are struggling academically and behaviorally. I implement lesson plans and teach utilizing strategies and teaching styles base upon students’ interest and learning styles. I teach one to one, small group, and whole group lessons. I have taught all grade levels in the elementary setting. I currently work with students grades K-3. During the last 4 years I have participated in the after school program, providing tutoring services to struggle students in the areas of reading and math. I am certified to teach grades Kindergarten through Sixth, Elementary Content.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all students. My teaching style is based on the student's learning style and interests. I use visual, tactile and auditory instructional methods when presenting information and/or teaching skills and concepts. As we know students' learning differ in readiness for content, interests and how he/she learns,therefore it is my job to identify his/her needs. I believe all children are life long learners. I supply and deliver information in a manner in which the student comprehends and builds upon. I am a true believer in the following phrase "the more ways you teach, the more students you reach." I choose teaching as a life long career because this is how I can make a difference in children's lives.
