I like to simplify whatever problem the student is facing in order for him/her to be able to independently solve it. I always like to remind them that nothing is hard, it is just how they are looking at the problem and organize their thoughts. My teaching style could be described as fun, supportive, caring, and disciplined. By disciplined I don't mean tough, hard, or mean. Students are assigned work that they are expected to complete, although it won't be too time consuming. All work is intended to improve the student's abilities in the field that I will be tutoring them. Improvement is encouraged and positively reinforced.
I have tutored Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Music History for two and a half years at Adelphi University. My G.P.A. in Music Theory was a 3.4 and my G.P.A. for Aural Skills was a 4.0.
