I always look forward to tutoring new people becuase I not only get to make a difference in their life by helping them master what they're struggling with, but I also get to learn about people and different learning styles. Working with all ages from kindergarten to college has taught me patience and how to conform to different people's needs. I graduated from Vanderbilt University in May 2010, and I am currently applying to medical school. In high school and college, I tutored in math, science, English, and test prep. Math and Science are my favorite subjects, but I also have much experience with tutoring English and grammar. I have also tutored people preparing for tests such as the ACT, SAT, and Gateway.

I earned my BS in Chemistry with a GPA 3.57. I then took the GRE and ACS entrance exams for graduate school, I passed all four division with 20-60 percentile of the national avg. During my undergraduate education I was a tutor and earned level one training certification. In graduate school I instructed lab courses and tutored in a learning center several days a week. I am well experienced and qualified for tutoring any undergraduate and lower level chemistry courses; I have earned several A's and B's at the graduate level. I do not know what my teaching style is. I have instructed large groups and had one on one learning sessions as well. I have dominated the communication time and I have been a listener. I have a visual and hands on teaching style. I do believe that students learn better by doing labs and seeing demonstrations, not by just hearing lectures. My students thoroughly enjoy my demonstrations and labs. My goal is to do whatever it takes to ensure that my students are working to their maximum potential. I have 5 years experience as a Biology, Chemistry, and now, a Physical Science teacher on the high school and middle school levels. I have gained a valuable understanding about the needs of our young people. I believe that all students are capable of learning anything, some just have different learning styles.
