German is one of my top subjects!

I began learning German and French when I was 16 and in High School, then immediately continued my studies in College at University of Northern Colorado, where I am currently a double major in the two languages. I will be a Senior this year. Within my experience, I have traveled to Germany thrice, two of those times to study through the college. I have also studied abroad for French in Québec. My knowledge of the literature of these languages has been greatly extended within my studies at the University. I am the German Tutor for the University during the school year. I have been playing guitar for seven years, and have taught lessons at times throughout. I have basic music theory training. I have also worked as a paraprofessional for students with disabilities for six summer school sessions, aiding them with academics and behavioral skills.

After graduating from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., I returned to Wyoming to work in politics and government. I have been asked to teach chapters on Government in the local high schools as well as teaching Sunday School classes locally in Cheyenne. I serve in the State Legislature as well as working in the community to help youth succeed in their goals.

I would describe my teaching style as loving, caring and understanding. I know that everyone is unique and has different capabilities. I try to reach out to all of my students. Everyone is good at something. Sometimes it takes time to bring the best out in students. Patience is key! I try to bring in outside materials and relate the topic to everyday circumstances and situations. If students can relate, they will store the new information into their long-term memory. A Little Bit About Me...

I hold a BS and MS in Biology. I started to tutor college student while an undergraduate at Mesa State College.I was awarded the GK-12 Fellowship for two years while at the University of Northern Colorado. This fellowship placed me in k-12 classrooms to aid in teaching sciene. During that time I taught kindergarten, second grade, 8th grade, and 9th - 12th grades.Later I was awarded the GAANN Fellowship and continued to teach colleged level Biology. I have experience in classroom setting, lab setting, and biology trips outside.
