Even as a student i helped my fellow students to understand and grasp the subjects they were having difficulty with. i can generaly spinn the information into a subject matter that interests the individual or just explain it in an easier to understand manner, offted they just get lolst in the language of teaching. i minnored in math, and majorred in science and agriculture in high school, ansd took veternary technology in colledge this involved mostly biologies and lab technigues.
i have never taught professionaly, but have assisted fellow students. the methods i useed to help them were ither to incorporate the subject matter into a sumject that they had a personal interest in, or manny time i found that they just didnot understand the language of the subject so i reexplained it in simpler terms and they got it just fine.

A Little Bit About Me...

My high school Chemistry instructor had a profound impact on me. Although the subject was a difficult one, his passion for it was so infectious that, by the end of my junior year, I WANTED to be a chemist. I went on to attain Chemistry degrees from Long Island University (BS) and the University of Maine (MS with thesis). I subsequently enjoyed a 28-year career at Kodak in such diverse Chemistry-related fields as lithium batteries, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic imaging. My teaching experience includes a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Maine, participation in the High School Educators Conference at the Rochester Museum and Science Center in the early nineties and tutoring my step-daughter in high school chemistry.

I believe that different teaching styles help different students. A method of both lecture and active learning can be effective for the widest range of students. This allows the students to get a brief introduction to the day’s material before they work in groups on questions about the material. I feel that student’s can learn best from each other because they are all at the same level. If a group is unsure of an answer they can always ask the teacher or look it up in a book.
