My comments on tutoring ACT : I homeschooled my children and helped my two oldest study for and do very well on this test.

I homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years, right through high school. All three have gone on to Colllege and have excelled, making the Dean's list. In the work world, two have been highly praised for their writing skills. After homeschooling, I began tutoring. I have over 5 years experience and have tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adults preparing for exams such as the GED. I enjoy teaching and helping others.

I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion with working with youth at risk, and adolescents with behavioral and emotional problems in a residential treatment setting of 6 years. I have been a teachers aide working with this type population in a self structure educational atmosphere.Prior to going off to college I have tutored children in my neighborhood and summer camps in math, science, english etc. I earned a BA in Social Work from Livingstone College and a MA in Counseling from Webster University. In addition, I recently published my first novel which will be release May 2010. I love to write fiction work as well as editoral work.
