A Little Bit About Me...

While pursuing my MA in Medieval Studies, an interdisciplinary degree combining history and literature, I was able to teach six sections of Medieval 145: Heroes and Villains. The sections averaged 40 undergraduate students of various ages and I enjoyed sharing my love of history and literature with them. At the same time, I was able to help shape their writing and research skills. I learned the ever-important lesson: if you can research it, you can teach it! I begin by starting a conversation to break the ice. A child cannot beging learning from a stranger. If I can get to know a child better, then I can get a better idea of how they learn, how much information they will absorb, what they will find interesting, and ultimately, this will impact their overall experience with me, with tutoring, and with their desire to continue learning through the venue of tutoring.
