I love children and I love teaching children. I teach using a variety of methods. I have learned that children have different ways of learning. Some children are visual learners so I used plenty of visual aids when teaching these children. Some children are kinetic learners so I made sure that I used manipulatives when teaching these children. I believe that all children have a "best way" to learn. I determine what that way is, and then I taylor the way I teach to that way. I love seeing a child light up when they "get it". I love learning and I want to pass that love on to others.
As a parent concerned about the condition of the public school system we decided to homeschool our last two children. I have worked as a music teacher for 10 years, and I spent one year working as a Title I paraprofessional. As a music teacher, my focus is on music literacy and appreciation. I strongly believe that every child has the right to a quality music education. As a Title I para, I worked with individual and small groups of K-6 students in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
A wonderful characteristic of music is that learning and experiencing music addresses all three main learning styles--visual, aural, and kinesthetic. A Little Bit About Me...

As a business woman of 24 years, I have gained valuable experiences in many different sectors; banking, customer service, marketing, sales, public relations and teaching. I excel in the Marketing/PR field which entails most of the jobs I have held. I also like teaching children. Most of my teaching has been with grades K-8 which I really enjoy. During my years of private piano teaching, I learned so much from the students as far as "teach the child the subject, not teach a subject to a child." Each child is unique and different.
